Christian John Miller was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He has attended Eastern Suffolk BOCES during his high school career, where he developed his skill in pattern making and sewing, and participated in his first fashion show at 16 years old. He also attended the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in NYC, where he advanced his skill over the summer for their pre-college courses. He then went to Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY and received an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts.
Just two years ago, he moved across the country to Los Angeles, California to attend the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to pursue his dreams of being a fashion designer. After graduating in 2016 with a Professional Designation Associates of Arts Degree in Fashion Design, he was one of 10 students to be selected to participate in FIDM’s Advanced Fashion Design program. Students graduating from this program are required to create a collection for FIDM’s DEBUT fashion show. Christian was one of three students to receive a full scholarship for this program, and created an 11-look menswear collection communicating his grunge aesthetic and take on androgyny by taking masculine silhouettes and using feminine fabrications. He graduated from the program with an Advanced Associates of Arts Degree in Fashion Design. Christian is now back in New York, solely focusing on his own brand, “Christian John” and artistic vision.
